Canoville, who won acclaim for his celebrated autobiography 'Black and Blue: How Racism, Drugs and Cancer Almost Destroyed Me', will arrive on Friday at the invitation of Leeds Rugby Foundation 'Connecting Communities' and will lunch with the Jamaican squad before attending his first match, watching Leeds Rhinos take on Catalans Dragons.
"I am really looking forward to visiting the famous Headingley Carnegie Stadium and supporting the Jamaican rugby league team taking part in the Carnegie 9's event," he said.
"This will be my first live rugby league game. I have heard so much about the Leeds Rhinos and I am delighted to be invited to attend."
On Saturday, he will go with the Jamaicans to the Prince Philip Centre in Chapeltown, Leeds to watch them train and address local youngsters before being a guest of Leeds United and, in the evening, at a community event in Bradford.
